When you talk about efficiency, many will think about speed – ie. how fast something is done. This is somewhat true, but I’d like to think it has to do a lot on the efficacy. For example, surely if things were done quickly but not effective.. what’s the use right? It’s hard to argue that one seek effectiveness as well as speed of task.
So it is fair to say that having the right balance between speed and accuracy (effectiveness) is the epitome of efficiency. The definition of having the right balance may differ for different individuals. That is important to realise.
